Organizing the Studio

After the 4th of July, the Fried Roots Studio was in disarray. I took this opportunity to do some major improvements. Make sure to always keep the studio you work in clean and presentable. You never know who may be coming in to records or even just drop by for a visit.
Always think on how to improve your work environment. Know your work habits and create a space that suits you and your style. For Fried Roots, several upgrades were administered. These upgrades focus on our ability to make good music. To accomplish this, a positive and creative environment is most important.
First was to make sure come winter, studio Fried Roots will stay dry. I used silicone caulking to seal underneath the door jams and any other potential problem spots. I also added a mat at the door way so guests and clients don’t track in dirt.

Second, I need to build a pair of speaker stands for my Event TR-8 Audio Monitors. For this task I salvaged wood from an old table. Using the 4″x4″x32″ legs as support, I cut 2 – 12″x12″x1″ for tops and 2 – 18″x12″X1″ for bottoms. Nail them together and check out the results.

Think up ideas on how to improve your studio, or how you want to build your own studio with this easy going and somewhat haunting track. Focus on the future and make it happen!
