While working on some new Fried Roots releases, we came to the conclusion of trying to place our music with music supervisors in the hopes of licensing our music. The main obstacle is finding accurate information on where and how to approach this scenario. It sounds simple enough, but what are the main things to look for?

I came across Musicmarketing.net as a first solution to find music professionals to chat with. It seems to have a nice mix of songwriters, managers and other music business professionals to pick the brains of. I look forward to networking with fellow musicians and artists.

Aside from just seeking music supervisors, we also wanted to sign our music up to different licensing sites. The Music Snob has a great post called “Tips For Evaluating Music Licensing Opportunities“. Some things to look out for when licensing your music. Knowledge empowers Indie Success.
